TIPS TO BE SMART READER

There are many people spending their time to read but they don’t get anything from the reading they read. According to Al-Madari there are some tips that we can apply when we want to be a smart reader. In this case, the researcher just mentions some of them, they are:

1. Try to understand word by word in what you are reading about. Then relate those words, in order your skill to read will be better.

2. Concentrate your mind when you are reading. Beside that use your eyes as well as possible to understand the topic or main point in that reading.

3. Chose a god or suitable place which enables us to understand the reading that we want to read.

4. Read to know and to understand the reading.

5. Avoid something that can annoy your concentration when reading.

6. Make duration of time to finish the reading that you want to read.

7. Review what you have read to test your ability in understanding that reading.

Furthermore, Al-Madari says that when we want to read something we should avoid four problems below:

1. When reading, readers do not pay attention to the text they are reading or they don’t feel patient to finish their reading.

There are many readers that can not read continually, they lost their patient to read. They do not have encouragement to understand to pay attention to the text or book they are reading.

2. When reading, readers do not have concentration.

Many people have ability to read by using both their eyes, but their mind or their think do not follow to read. It is because they do not concentrate and obey the reading they are reading.

3. A reader does not have an obvious and good reading systematic.

Some time a reader does not understand where should first of all start to read. It is always happened for the beginner. In order, a reader should have a good systematic because it can help him/her to know a good strategy when reading.

4. Readers do not apply what have been read and learnt

A success reader is reader that applies or teaches what has been read to another people.

From those explanations above, it can be concluded a reader should avoid those problems that can annoy us when reading; we should try to focuses on the reading that we are reading. And we should decide the purpose of why we need to read.
